Inshore Fish 2.0 - Men's Floridian Shirt
Channel the relaxed vibes of untroubled protected waters when wearing the Inshore Fish 2.0 Men’s Coastal Shirt by Okihasi. This classically styled shirt is made of lightweight, breathable viscose that will leave you cool and comfortable on any summery adventure. And you don’t have to be an ichthyologist to wear it. It is sure to appeal to anyone with a fondness for Florida’s incredibly diverse coastal life.
Leaving the shore, the wading fisherman scatters small fish called choffers, flushes blue crabs and watches as a Southern stingray takes flight, shedding itself of the dusting of bottom sediment that served it as camouflage. When the water reaches his waist, he casts a favorite lure that mimics a menhaden toward the horizon and begins winding it back in with a series of jerks and pauses. Wham! Soon it becomes clear to the experienced angler that it’s not a large, headshaking speckled seatrout he has tied into, nor a bulldogging redfish. A grouper would attempt to burrow into the lush seagrass that carpets this flat. Whatever it is instead completes a series of powerful runs, and the fisherman sighs in resignation. He knows it’s a silvery, toothy, voracious bluefish, tough on tackle and not much to eat, but great sport. The flats, like mangrove forests, harbor countless species from wriggling nematodes to scallops, sea stars and shrimp. They serve as nurseries for marquee species of fish that will live out their lives offshore. Vulnerable to development and runoff, they are of incalculable value. - Steve Bornhoft

More on the Inshore Fish and the Grass Flat ecosystem.
The brackish inland waters of Florida's bays are home to numerous fish, crustacean, mollusk, and aquatic plant species. They are also sought after fishing locations for many anglers seeking some of the more iconic fish species like Red Drum, Snook, and Spotted Seatrout, which in the shallower grass "flats" regions of this ecosystem. You can also sometimes find larger seasonal fish like Spanish Mackerel, Tarpon, and Red Snapper in the deeper areas of these bays.
This aquatic ecosystem is under constant threat by human activities, like runoff from agricultural nutrients and sediment pollution, as well as, boat traffic that desertifies the grass flats area. In addition, overfishing of the Red Drum and Snook continue to decimate their populations. It's important to protect this incredibly valuable ecosystem before we tragically over use it.
